Dear BottlesXO Lovelies,
In the spirit of International Women’s Day 2018 #PressforProgress, it’s time for us to celebrate some very special leading women’s achievements and to keep pushing toward gender equality.
1972 marked the first-ever female CEO of a Fortune 500 company, when Katharine Graham became CEO of The Washington Post. Today the number of women CEOs on the Fortune 500 has increased to 32, a 52%-increase from previous year. On one hand, this marks the progress of female leadership in the international workplace. On the other hand, just 6.4% of the list is in no way representative of the world gender ratio.
To all women who are daughters, grand-daughters, wives, mothers, girlfriends, partners and friends. To those contributing in large and small ways to the local communities and the betterment of this world. And, especially, to the women who support BottlesXO as customers and fans – Happy International Women’s Day 2018!
I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate a very special woman in my own professional and personal life: my ex-boss, mentor and guiding star, Jill S. Jill taught me strong work ethics and moral values, leading with humility, intellectual charisma and integrity. She motivated me to be great at what I love to do.
Now she is becoming the best dressage horse rider in her community. Gender does not matter in the equestrian arena: that’s an equal playing field.
Today, I’m thrilled to work with incredible, gender vibrant teams across Asia and Europe, and driven to bring more of BottlesXO to the world (and, also, to become an amateur golfer when I can afford to semi-retire :).
Gender equality doesn’t happen overnight, but today let us celebrate each small step toward progress. We will get there together.
