The final episodes of Game of Thrones Season 7 are upon us. Are you as completely gripped as us by the turmoil in Westeros? Then you’ll need a drink just to quieten your nerves.
Have you ever wondered what your favourite characters imbibe as they plot and scheme and battle their way to power? We have. We’ve paired the GoT big guns with BottlesXO wines so you too can drink like a true Westerosi.
Cersei Lannister | de Venoge Champagne

Even with the fate of the Seven Kingdoms in the palms of her treacherous hands, it’s hard not to see Cersei as the ultimate boss. She’s plotted and schemed her way to the Iron Throne, ridding herself of haters with every step of her ascent. Ever wondered what she was sipping as she watched the Sept erupt into kingdom come? de Venoge Champagne, that’s what.
Because the queen of the Seven Kingdoms accepts no less than the best. If it was good enough for Louis XV then it’s sure as hell good enough for Cersei Lannister.
Daenerys Targaryen | Terra Mazzei

Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons (and a ton of other convoluted regal titles) rejects the opulence of the De Venoge. Instead, she favours an all-together more humbling sparkling wine.
She’s all about Terra Mazzei, as dry as the deserts of Essos that witness her rise to badass queendom, as refreshing as her new vision for a fairer more just Westoros and as complex as her budding romance with King of the North, Jon Snow. Get it on already – we’ve waiting six seasons for this!
Jon Snow | Poggio Civetta Chianti

Oh Jon Snow, the true hero of Game of Thrones – risen from the ranks of Stark bastardom to the reigning King of the North. If you ask us, he’s as humble and understated as our classic Poggio Civetta Chianti. Like any good Chianti, he’s dependable, stalwart and will never disappoint.
He’s basically the safe option with a real intensity (think of that sultry gaze) surprising complexity (he fell for a wilding for goodness’ sake) and a long, strong finish that will hopefully have him crowned King of the Seven Kingdoms alongside Daenerys. Swoon, swoon.
Tyrion Lannister | Feudo Maccari Nero d’Avola

The birth of the Tyrion Lannister fan club was as immediate and intriguing as this Feudo Maccari Nero d’Avola on the palate. One sip and you’re hooked.
Like this Nero D’Avola, Tyrion’s character is effortlessly addictive. He’s got punchlines as explosive as vibrant red berries and an eloquence as silky and pleasant in the mouth as this robust Sicilian wine. Toast Game of Thrones’ foremost wine-aholic with this perfectly structured libation.
Sansa Stark | Chartron La Fleur Sauvignon Blanc
(Credit: HBO. Image via usmagazine.com)
The transformation of Sansa Stark from precocious teenager with royal ambition to fully-fledged lady boss and political strategist has been one of Game of Throne’s most satisfying character developments. If you seriously dig her u-turn then reach for the Chartron La Fleur.
Pairing her sophistication and diplomatic tactics with a classic young Sauvignon Blanc is just so right. Luminously clear and bright, this wine delivers a direct and lively attack reminiscent of every single time Sansa has dropped the mic.
